Went to the Masai organised by JT's - recommended Kichwa Tembo and wasn't disapointed. We have also been to Amboseli and Tsavo East & West with him and would rate him as excellent, reliable and honest with his opinions.
We will definately recommend him to everyone and will go with him again in February 2014. |

At the end of September, we and 6 other people went to Kenia for a safari. We were recommended by friends to go with JT Julius Safari. We contacted them and received all the necessary information and price via email, for a total of 6 days of safari and 2 day trips.
The safari were done with a very comfortable jeep (not one of the typical uncomfortable local vans) with an amazing guide, Beca, we managed to spot all the wildlife for us. Beca made sure we were always satisfied, and was very careful driver. Julius also called everyday to see if everything was according to our wishes and to fix any problems if needed, even though the latter was never necessary. The lodges were of amazing quality.
Julius work on a trusted-based principle: only need to pay after the trip (besides a small deposit so he can book the hotels). We are so satisfied that JT Julius can use us as a reference, and hand out our phone number to possible future clients.
We highly recommend JT Julius, and want to thank him for the great time we had!

THE BEST TOP SAFARI OPERATOR
On January this year we spent our honeymoon in Kenya at the hotel Southern palm beach (more about this hotel on the tripadvisor.com - southern palm beach.
Before our arrival we read excellent references to Julius Tact Safaris – „JT Safaris“ (www.julius-safaris.com) and therefore we set out immediately after our arrival to Julius office. The office is situated near Mombasa, at Ukunda next to the hotel Neptune palm beach resort.
As we came, we were welcomed from the chef of JULIUS TACT SAFARIS (=JT) – Mr. Julius K Nzumbi. Julius is a very friendly person. We wanted a 4-days safari. Julius helped us to choice the parks and also the accommodation. We choose Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboseli. There is a choice of more accommodations in each park. During the personal meeting were all people from JT Safaris very kind and they explained us all details very willingly. We agreed on a car only for us (we two and a driver) and ordered following accommodations: Voi Safari lodge, Kibu a Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge. The next day, our driver Abu picked up us right in front of our hotel and we set off to the adventure.
The whole trip was without any problems. We had a car with 8+1 seats so we had a lot of place for us. It isn´t a lot of safari operators, who offer a car only for two person but it will surely pay. Some safari operators offer car without a lifting roofs but not Julius. His cars have always the lifting roofs so you can stay during the drive or during observation of the animals. It´s a big advantage over the others cars. We can´t imagine to observe the animal only thru the glass of the car´s window as some other operators offer. All the time we had bottles of water in large quantities. Our driver was a perfect person, who was well versed in parks and in all the animals. The safari was an amazing experience.
We saw except the rhinos all kinds of animals (elephants, zebras, lions, leopards, monitor lizards, ostriches, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, wildebeests, ...). Our driver Abu was super and we saw a lot of animals only thank his experience.
2 nights we were staying in lodges and one night in a tent (Kiba). There was a swimming pool at all the accommodations. We had enough of food and the staffs were very helpful. In the vicinity of our lodges were tanks, where the animals went to drink continuously, so they could be well seen at night. Everything was great, the only thing we would change, would be the time. Next time we would like to spend more time at the safari. It is important to have a binocular and a good camera.
We strongly recommend JT safaris to all the people, who want to travel to Kenya.
Please beware, many companies posing as JT Safaris. Make sure you are at the right company: JT (JULIUS TACT Safaris), that leads Julius K. Nzumbi. (www.julius-safaris.com).

Number ONE tour operator in Kenya, Ukunda.
Everything I have read about JT SAFARIS (www.julius-safaris.com) before my vacation was 100% true. Julius and his team are very polite, honest, heplpful people. I booked two day safari to Tsawo East. Safari tour was amaizing. Driver was not only a driver but also an excellent guide. He told us a lot of interesting facts about wildlife, savannah, Kenya. We had an unforgettable view from our hotel window in savannah....
Uhhhh... Trip to Kenya was amazing for it's safari, I think My family and I will be back few years later. And I hope that Julius will still be in the same business and will help me again :) |

We booked a safari from England before we left for Kenya and used JT Safari's,Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) (www.julius-safariscom) who we would thoroughly recommend using. Be careful as there are other operators using a very similar name. Julius was in contact with us before we left England, when we got to Kenya and every day whilst on the Safari, ensuring that we were having a good trip and that everything met our needs. The staff that drive for Julius K. Nzumbi are excellent, whatever you wanted to do or see nothing was too much trouble for them. Our trip was for 2 nights 3 days, visiting Tsavo East and West, Julius K. Nzumbi arranged the accomodation at the Ashnil Aruba Lodge (East Tsavo) and Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge (West Tsavo). We would thoroughly recommend staying at the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge - great views of Mount Kilamanjaro, and the watering hole always had animals day and night. Our driver Abul was very knowledgeable about the animals, all the different birds and fauna, he was excellent and we managed to see 4 of the big 5, the only one we did not see was a Rhino. It was a life experience that we will never forget, and if we ever visit Kenya again we would definitely use JT Safaris. Thank you Juluis and Abul.

We were picked up at 5.00 am on Monday morning and driven the 3 plus hours to Tsavo east stopping for a short toilet break on the way. When you get to the Gates a guide puts safari hats on you and encourages you to buy one. We did as keep sake. As soon as we started to drive on the site we saw elephant’s lions and Giraffe. Jay was excellent at spotting animals if we didn’t and was very knowledgeable about all the animals we saw. If you asked him a question he knew the answer. Jay went above and beyond our expectations for a guide and was very friendly all day both days. We had an excellent 2 day Safari and saw most animals with the exception of a Rhino (but no one saw one the 2 days we were on safari). It was amazing how close you got to even the pride of lions Jay found for us and we would not hesitate to recommend JT safaris to anyone looking for a good friendly value for money experience. Jay was brilliant and he even picked us up the day after to go to the office and pay the balance. Julius was very nice too and even gave us a small gift to thank us for our custom. Brilliant 2 days!! |

Simply the best! Top safari experience! I had the best time and my expectations have been far exceeded. From the starting point when organizing the trip, during the entire safari I must JT is a very professional operator, the staff is highly qualified and friendly (special thanks to Cobra who was my driver and great guide!)! I am sure JT is the best operator, from what I have seen other companies didn't offer the same level of service (I had a private driver, who really knew the way around and showed us all the animals we wanted to see). Even after the safari JT helped us organizing transfers, transport service and were really supportive with any information I needed. It felt like having my own concierge, they took really good take of me and my partner. I highly recommend! |

After some research on the internet it was clear that JT safaris seemed the best safari operator for wildlife safaris in Kenya. I read so many good reviews about him and I contacted him via his website www.julius-safaris.com. He answered very quickly on all my questions, and I had a lot of questions because it would be our first safari experience. After having sent a lot of emails and having received a lot of good advice, we decided to do a 3 day mara safari in the governors camp. The only thing we had to do was sending a small deposit and all the rest was taking care off. One week before we went to Kenya we got the message from our Belgian tour operator that the hotel we booked at diani beach (mombasa) wasn't finished yet and that we had to move to a hotel in malindi, 2 hours drive from the airport of mombasa. But the safari normally started in mombasa which ment that we had to drive 2 hours from malindi to mombasa before the safari and 2 hours from mombasa to malindi after the safari. But Julius K. Nzumbi of JT Safaris did everything possible to solve the problem and to arrange a flight from malindi airport to the masai mara instead of mombasa, which he succeeded! That was so nice!! So we only had to drive 20 minutes to the airport where a small plane waited for us. A few days before the safari, Julius came especially from mombasa to our hotel in malindi to meet us and to discuss the details about the safari. We even didn't have to pay the rest of the safari yet, but as we were so far from mombasa and we didn't want him to have to come twice to malindi, we suggested to pay before the safari.
The safari was the best experience ever. After a 2 hour flight we arrived in the masai mara where a driver waited for us to bring us to the camp, governors camp. I really think this is the best camp in the mara you can stay in. We had a wonderful tent along the mara river, we had a wonderful driver Duncan, we ate the best food, the staff was brilliant, the feeling that you have there can't be described. It is unique. A once in a lifetime experience. All you see is pure nature. We are already looking for going back in July to see the big crossing of the animals.
After the safari Julius send someone of his staff to our hotel with a big bag of gifts. I thought we had to choose one of them, but no, we could keep them all! Some beautiful wood carvings! I gave them a good place in my house.
Thank you Julius for everything, to give us the best experience ever. I can recommend JT Safaris to everyone, you won’t be disappointed!

We booked our trip with JT Safaris (JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) from in the UK Via email after I did extensive research on the internet reading many reviews on the web. Being a bit goony and geeky with my research, I was content to take the risk of booking and even paying a desposit prior to departing the UK.
Julius was very attentive and a good communicator by email while we were in the UK and by text when we were in Kenya. He could not do enough for us, he looked after us to perfection and put our mind at ease.
On arrival for our 2 week holiday/honeymoon in Kenya Julius text us to book a premlimary chat, we were picked up outside our hotel (Southern Palms Beach Resort) by 1 of his drivers. By this time we had persuaded another couple who we meet at the hotel to consider booking a safari with JT. On the way to our briefing I think they thought we were going to me kidnaped as it was about a 20min drive from the hotel. Alas, we all made it back alive! At Julius\'s office we had an \'interview\', Juluis is a very soft, gentle and articulate man. He checked that he had our booking right and structured our expections for the 3 day safari at Governors Camp, Masai Mara. We parted with the full amount of cash the trip, which was our choice, we could have paid on our return but we preferred to pay up front. We returned to the hotel, fully briefed and our honeymoon friends booked a 3 day trip to savo East and West.
On the day of our safari trip we were picked up Benson the driver in luxury people carrier and picked up another couple on the way to the airstrip (20min journey tops). The plane journey was amusing, about 2hrs to Governors camp but gave spectacular views of highest single Peak in the world!
We landed at Governors airstrip, which is what it says on the tin, a 5- 10 min drive to the camp and a great induction, settled in, fed and watered, allocated our luxury tent. The food was 1st class, the service briiliant, people fantastic, the tent was great and we were treated like true Governors. this camp still tried to keep the colonial/Africian spirit and remains unspoilt. We met some fantastic people (and animials) and felt safe but free at all times. We really can not fault the trip at all!
My wife is now saying that I am writing toooooooo much and people will be bored and stop reading. So to wrap up.... JT Safaris pre, post, and care during trip was brilliant. It is a shame our customer service industry in the UK isn\'t as good!!
Governors camp was out of this world we loved every minute of it, not the cheapest but definately value for money. |

It is very difficult to put into words the experience but I can fully guarantee you will not regret taking the experience. We have just returned from the most amazing four days on Safari with Julius and we are still struggling to take the smile of our faces. We can’t say enough about the experience we have had other than to say it was perfect. Our driver (Matheus) was wonderful. He was funny, kind, took care of our every need and had an amazing knowledge of the animals. Matheus took us to see a volcano, to the border with Tanzania, up a mountain to take some great pictures and arranged for a park ranger to take us in to the bush to see the lions cave! No one else we spoke to with other companies did this and there was no extra cost. I always felt that we were the first ones to go on the game drives, the last ones back to the lodges and we always seemed to see more than everyone else.
We chose JT Safari’s on a recommendation and we were so pleased we did. When we returned to the hotel and compared our safari with other guests we found we had a much better experience. We had seen more, knew more about the animals and had had more fun. Many guest said they wished they had chosen Julius. When you go to Kenya I don’t think you can have a bad safari although some people told us that they didn’t get what they asked for when they bought on the beach. All I can say is that if you go with Julius you probably won’t pay more than what you pay with anyone else including the beach boys and I can assure you that you will have an amazing and truly unforgettable experience.

I have just returned from an amazing two week holiday in the Southern Palms Beach Resort, Diani Beach, Mombassa. Prior to our travel to Kenya, I decided to do some online research to find an independent Safari tour company (I prefer to do this rather than purchase direct through the package holiday – you often get a far better deal).
Looking at this site, I stumbled across the JT Safaris recommendations and was quietly impressed by the sheer number of good news reports. Ever conscious of online scams, I emailed Julius Nzumbi (he has a yahoo address but don’t let that put you off) who responded within the day to confirm prices. I paid my deposit (he seems to be able to process GBP, EUROS and US DOLLARS and gives a fair rate of exchange) and crossed my fingers to hope I hadn’t fallen foul of a trap.
On the day we were set to meet, Julius sent a lovely chap, Benson, to pick us up from outside the hotel (he’s not allowed in as the hotel have their own affiliated companies) who had a scrap piece of paper with our names and appointment time – this was about as formal as we got really!
We had the most amazing safari in Tsavo East and West, staying at the Voi Wildlife Lodge and Kilaguni Serena lodge which both have stunning views over their own watering holes. Whilst the other people in our hotel had shared vans, the JT Safari deal was for our own private van (ladies, pack your sports bra!) which also meant we had our own private table for dinner.
Our guide, Hamadi, was the best. He had a very keen eye and spotted 4 of the Big Five for us over the 3 day tour. He was also keen to point out the many and varied wildlife species – we had fun ticking them off from my Lonely Planet guide book actually! Hamadi seemed to know all the other tour guides which came in handy when the call came in about a lion spotting and he was also great at gauging when we had seen enough elephants not to need to stop too long…! If you are a keen photographer, ask your tour guide to switch off the van’s engine before you take a picture.
I would highly (I really can’t stress this enough!) recommend Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) (www.julius-safariscom) if you are looking for a great safari in Kenya.
I would also point out that alcohol (the only thing not included in the JT Safari price) whilst at the lodges is extremely expensive so you may wish to take a water bottle with some provisions…

I COULDN\'T BELIEVE IT CAN BE BETTER THEN THE FIRST TIME, BUT IT WAS. IF YOU WANT SOMEBODY TO BE ALWAYS ON TIME IN KENYA, THEN JULIUS IS YOUR GUY. HIS STUFF IS SO KIND AND PROFESSIONAL. OUR GUIDE BONI - WAS NO THING HE IS NOT READY TO DO JUST TO BE SURE WE ARE HAPPY. IT IS NOT EASY TO GUIDE FOUR WOMEN DURING 3 DAYS :-))), BUT HE DID AND WE WAS REALLY HAPPY. OUR SAFARY WAS INMOST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE AND MY FRIENDS SAY SAME. jULIUS GAVE US LAND CRUISER AND WE WAS FEELING COMPLETELY CONFORTABLE. LODGES ARE LUXURY AND GIVE NICE CONTRAST WITH THE WILD BUSHES. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT, ESPECIALY IN kILGUNI SERENA LODGE.
WHATEVER I SAY, I FEEL THE WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH. JUST GO AND DO IT WITH JULIUS!!! DON\'T LET SOME FAKE COMPANIES AND PEOPLE TO DESTROY YOUR HOLIDAY. THE SAFARI IS LIFETIME EXPERIENCE. GIVE IT TO THE BEST ONE TO ARRANGE FOR YOU. THANK YOU, JULIUS!!! WHATEVER I DO, I CAN\'T BE THANKFULL ENOUGH... |

We booked our safari with JT SAFARIS(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) AND WEB:(www.julius-safaris.com. He provided us with exceptional service at a fantastic price. We contact Julius Tact from the Uk prior to our trip to Kenya. He was very helpful and prompt with his replies.
He sent a driver to collect us from our hotel on arrival in Mombasa and advised us on the best safari to suit our requirements.
On day one of our safari our driver Boniface arrived in his brand new jeep and from start to end he was very helpful and great and spotting animals and tracking their pay prints etc.
We managed to see 4 out of 5 of the big 5 ( no rhino on this occasion) Amongst the animals we saw, elephants, lions, cheetah, leopard, zebra, nuerous deer type animals, lots of different birds, buffalo, ostrich etc. An amazing exeprience and i cant wait to go back.
I would highly recommend JT Safaris to others. Julius Tacts mani priortity is customer satisfaction and his customer service is second to none. Thank you Julius and Boniface for a perfect safari and outstanding service.
There are other companies claiming to be JT Safaris and using his name so should you decide to book with him please email him via his website. |

We booked our safari through J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) (www.julius-safariscom) from Canada via e-mail. Julius prepared us a fantastic four night/five day safari. The two of us had our own jeep with a great driver/guide Bonifas. Other safari companies don't offer affordable private safaris and most of the time you share the vehicule with other travellers which is not comfortable at all. He picked us from the hotel and finalsied our custom trip with the route and lodges set to our needs to the last possible detail. Three major parks and four fantastic lodges (Tsavo East - Voi Safari), Amboseli (Ol Tokai and Kilima) & Tsavo West (Kilaguni) during which we saw so much wildlife and beautiful countryside. Bonifas was able to get us within 20 meters from a kill. Julius was attentive to our needs and so friendly with excellent staff working to make our trip so special, Don,t book safaris through the hotels - get Julius to plan you the trip of a lifetime and don't be fooled that short safaris do the same job. You need at least 3-4 nights to be able to explore and enjoy the parks. It was worth every peny spent. We have already started planning our next safari. This time to Masai Mara. Thank you Julius!

The safari we had was January 2011. (This site only shows up to 2010)
We reviewed many Safari companies before our visit to Kenya but could find no one who could compare to Julius Safaris. 5 star all the way.. and we were not disapointed. We emailed him for information prior to our visit and contacted him on arrival into Diani. He sent a car to pick us up from the hotel which was prompt and on time to the minute Julius had said.
We decided to book the 3 day, 2 night trip to Tsavo East and West staying at Voi Wildlife in the East and Kilanguni in the West. Julius took a deposit of approx £100 and advised us he did not require any balance until a couple of days \"after\" our Safari.
We were picked up at 6am prompt by Jay, our guide for the 3 days. All Julius\'s Safaris are private so we had the whole van to ourselves. Brilliant. Jay was a credit to Julius\'s company. He was very friendly, thoughtful and had an amazing knowledge of the wildlife. Always having regular stops to advise us of important and interesting information of the animals. He was always smart and kept the van in pristine condition.
We had the most amazing encounters with the animals at close range, especially the Lions which were almost close enough to touch (not that we would have attempted to!!) The first stop at the Voi Wildlife was actually better than we had expected as Julius honestly admitted it was basic. The rooms were very large and painted white and very clean. The food was fine. The waterhole however, was amazing. It had a resident hippo who popped his head up every few minutes and you could guarantee each time I took his photo his head was back under the water again, missed everytime.
After dinner we sat and watched over the waterhole which had many elephants around. Slowly they walked away and behind them arrived around 200 buffallo. They quietly drank and walked away as quietly as they had arrived. Wonderful.
Next morning after breakfast we departed on yet another amazing game drive, encountering many more animals including my favourite Giraffes and a Hyena who seemed to pose for us. We saw a Lion eating his kill and further along another male who wasn\'t camera shy either.
Down the highway and onto Tsavo West which is much more \'bushy\' and picturesque. Another amazing game drive and then arrival at Kilanguni which was just beautiful. It was truly 5 star plus with really lovely rooms and excellent waterhole. The view of Mount Kilamangaro was breathtaking. More brilliant game drives and much more encounters and lots of videos and pictures. What an experience we were having.
Finally after departing Tsavo West Jay took us to Lion Hill Camp in Tsavo East for lunch. What an amazing surprise and end to the most unbelievable experience of a lifetime.
Whilst on Safari Julius always kept in touch by phone to check we were enjoying ourselves and that we were happy with our guide Jay. Julius did not require our balance until 2 days \'after\' our Safari and also gave us gifts of beautiful carvings.
We can not thank Julius enough for our amazing experience and would urge anyone travelling to Diani to definitely use J T Safaris on www.julius-safaris.com. However, beware of the operators that try to copy him.
Thank you Julius |

We stayed at the Southern Palms Beach hotel in Diani, Mombasa and went on a 2 day 1 night safari to Tsavo East with J.T (Julius Tact) Safaris. www.julius-safaris.com. His full name is Julius K. Nzumbi.
I originally found out about Julius through the many positive reviews on Tripadvisor and other websites, and he and his company certainly lived up to the rave reviews! The safari was arranged through email before we went, and he sent a driver to pick us up from the hotel to go to his office the day after we arrived to finalise details. Be aware that the driver will wait for you outside the hotel as they're not allowed inside the hotel grounds. If you're not sure about this, ask the hotel's security guards to point out who the JT Safari driver is...they were all known. Be aware that there is another 'Julius' who likes to trade off of JT's good name though. We paid a deposit before we went, and the balance after we had been on the safari. Julius is keen that we enjoyed ourselves and phoned us on the safari to check everything was ok and we were happy with the lodge (Voi Wildlife), the driver (Gilbert) and the safari. Gilbert by the way had eagle-eyes and was able to spot all manner of wildlife which was great. There were just the two of us on the safari minivan, Julius likes private safaris instead of stuffing loads of people in the minivan.
We also went on a day trip to Old Mombasa and Haller Park with Julius, he also helped arrange a trip to Nairobi. Next time I go back, I will certainly use his services again...great customer service. His drivers...Gilbert and Patrick were friendly, professional and very helpful. Julius also gave us some animal carvings free which was a very kind gesture.
Do use him when you go to Kenya...you'll be pleased!

Booked with Julius Tact Safaris in the UK. Emails answered promptly and lots of choices to help us decide on what we wanted. This was the BEST decision we ever made. All the reviews we had read were absolutely true. A private safari for two in a Land Cruiser
Went to Tsavo East then on to Tsavo West where we stayed at the Kilaguni Lodge . Our safari guide Maxwell (the best!!) helped us to check in only too find we didn't have a room BUT!!!!! The Kilimanjaro Suite!!!
Julius phoned to ask if everything was good with our safari and was the room at the lodge ok??!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you again Julius & Maxwell for what was one of the best experiences of our lives.
WE WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND JULIUS TACT SAFARIS 100%

My wife and I booked a 3 day safari in advance with Julius at JT Safaris having extensively researched options on lodges and operators and read any number of reviews. Have to say everything was very well organised from the time we were collected from our hotel for an initial briefing before the trip to settling our account after we returned with Julius keen to make sure we were happy with all aspects before making payment.
My wife and I having previously been on a tour organised by a tour company were amazed at the difference the sole use of a vehicle and a good guide/driver ( we had Boneface who was very well informed and a good safe driver ! keen to make sure we enjoyed every moment ) makes both in terms of comfort and the animals seen. We were so lucky to see all the big cats including a leopard close up together with many many more animals.
We stayed at the Ashnil Aruba in the East which was good - food and rooms fine and the staff very welcoming. However the Kilanguni Lodge in the West is something else in terms of location, views, rooms and food. In all respects it was excellent - views from the rooms and main building of the waterhole and animals are spectacular and not to be missed. Swimming pool with towels provided was great to cool down in after a good lunch.
All in all a great trip and I would have no hesitation in recommending Julius and JT Safaries - just make sure you use the right web site etc.
Many thanks to Julius and his team for making this such a memorable trip with absolutely no worries or hassle. If only all tour operators offered this level of service and actually cared about your experience. All the best Julius & Boneface. |

We had a 3 day Tsavo East + West Safari at the end of November through JT Safaris. It was a fantastic experience. The best thing about Julius is that you get your own private air-conditioned van, unlike the hotels and other Safari operators who pile multi-lingual people into one van. We felt very safe and loved every minute of it.
Make sure you use the right Julius K Nzumbi of Julius Tact Safaris, as many try to imitate him (such as Julius Thuvi).
The correct website is www.julius-safaris.com. His office in Ukunda is opposite the Neptune Hotel.
His email is info@julius-safaris.com or jtsafaris@yahoo.com.
His drivers are all very friendly, thoughtful, and trustworthy. I know this because we used at least five of his drivers to take us to different places, like Mombasa- which he is also very competitive for. On Safari the driver happily scheduled the game drives around what we wanted to do.
Julius did not ask for payment until after the Safari, and then gave us some gifts! He is very honest about the choice of Lodges and their quality, he just wants you to be happy and have a great time. No problem sending Julius a deposit from abroad, just had to pay the bank £20 for the privilege!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Safari with Julius and we would highly recommend this company to everyone. |

I cannot express how wonderful this safari was with J.T. Safaris and also our fantastic driver/guide Patrick Kea of J.T. Safaris. We didn't even look anywhere else, based on the multitude of brilliant reviews on trip advisor, and the safari was much more than we had hoped. I cannot speak highly enough of Patrick or the professionalism of Julius who checked to see often that everything was going well and that we were happy. I am willing to answer any questions no problems. Make sure you request Patrick. Was also wonderful to just have us in the jeep and not squashed in like so many other safari companies with people clammering to see the wildlife and stopping briefly to look at animals. You will not be dissapointed. |

We have just returned from a superb 6 night safari with Julius Nzumbi of JT Safaris www.julius-safaris.com. This is the original Julius Tact Safaris of Diani beach, the top Kenya safari company that has gathered so many outstanding reviews. Well we can confirm their reputation for supplying the best wildlife safaris from Mombasa is richly deserved, we had an amazing experience.
We booked with Thomson Holidays to stay at Pinewood Village but arranged our safari direct with Julius by email from the UK. This was all very straight forward. The quote from JT Safaris showed that we could have a private, bespoke safari for the same price quoted by tour operators to be crammed 6 or 7 to a van on an organised tour. But with our tailor-made safari, we had a private van and a terrific driver, Jay, who asked us every evening what we would like to do the following day and then simply set about giving us the best safari experience possible. Our advice would be to cut out the middle man and deal direct with a trusted local safari operator. JT Safaris make this easy.
On arrival at MOI international airport Julius sent a driver to pick us up so we didn't have to use the Thomson coach after a long journey. We began the safari 4 days later - initially our tour was 4 nights to: Satao Camp (Tsavo East), Ngutuni Lodge (Tsavo East), Salt Lick (Taita Hills) & Kilaguni Lodge (Tsavo West). It's easy to get carried away with mileage and this was a sensible itinerary for people changing hotel every day.
The stand outs were Satao Camp and Kilaguni Lodge. Satao is a little more expensive but it is sensational - the full unfenced, bush experience under canvas - and near a very busy watering hole. We had impala silently graze around our text at dusk and wildlife all around; from the superb bar and restaurant to the camp fire, the wonderful tents and those brilliant 'bush bathrooms' it was a magic carpet ride. What a place.
Ngutuni was our suggestion, and a lovely rustic-looking lodge with a watering hold that is very close to the restaurant. The food throughout was a major step up from our hotel in Mombasa - in fact the food was first class in most of the lodges and this was one of the best. One of the elephants from the watering hole came right across and was almost leaning in the restaurant. The room and balcony view were also excellent. Then we discovered this is no accident - JT Safaris speak to the management at every location and pitch for one of the best rooms.
Despite all this, at Ngutuni we were initially given a room with an obstructed view. When Jay found out he suggested we get comfy in the bar while he looked into it. He then personally checked several rooms, selected the best, had our cases sent to the new room and delivered the new room key to us in the bar. All arranged like magic.
Of the 4, Salt Lick, because of the design (the rooms have no balconies) was our least favourite lodge. The food also was not quite as good as the other three and the smoking rules were rather over-fussy. But what Salt Lick does have is the beautiful Taita Hills game reserve. More of that in a bit.
Finally we stayed at Kilaguni - a 5 star lodge and quite frankly the service and views here are just off the scale. The rooms are superb and the food is terrific. We thought it was just about faultless. After your morning game drive they hand you a glass of bubbly as you go in for breakfast. And there's a 2nd and 3rd glass coming your way if you so much as glance at the chap dishing them out. Back at our room, trays of tea and coffee were brought over any time we liked completely free of charge. Brilliant.
In the face of all that our resolve crumbled and we ended up staying a 2nd and then a 3rd night at Kilaguni. In fact we only left because we ran out of malaria tablets. In the process we learned a valuable lesson - you see so much more if you stay more than 1 night in each location. The roads and tracks you use on safari, make the journey between lodges much longer than you think - staying over means you have time to explore.
Throughout it all our patient and dependable guide was Jay. We felt privileged to have this knowledgeable man, with such enthusiasm and passion for wildlife. He was also a careful sure-footed driver which is what you want, because on safari you never know what the roads will throw at you. Above all with Jay we felt safe and in good hands. In return he taught us as much as we cared to learn about the animals we saw and did all in his power to make sure we had a wonderful time. He even arranged a private visit to the site of a fresh lion kill thanks to his connections with a local Masai. He was brilliant and we'd have him again like a shot.
For game viewing Tsavo East was excellent - it's flat and excellent for game spotting in general. Tsavo West is the most scenic area but rugged and hilly and the hardest place to spot game, although very beautiful and good for the elusive Rhino and Leopard. Ngutuni is next door to Tsavo East in it's own wildlife sanctuary. This offered the most limited game viewing but did manage to serve up the most lions in a single day (10, split across 2 groups).
However, for pure game viewing Taita Hills was the winner. It's a lovely piece of land; golden swaying savannah beneath the picturesque Taita Hills - easy for game spotting and abundant with wildlife. Jay advised this is an exceptional viewing area in all parts of the year except the rainy season when the game migrates further north.
Finally the day dawned when our safari must end. After just one more wonderful Kilaguni breakfast we piled in the van and set off for Mombasa. Jay had us back in town by mid-afternoon and we were back on our sun loungers by 4pm. The next day Julius dropped by the hotel and we went over to his office to settle up. We had paid just $200 up front and after taking the greatest care to check we were completely happy and satisfied, he gave us our final bill which we conveniently settled by USD travellers cheques and a bit of cash, all correct to the penny. Then Julius presented us with some fine locally made gifts.
Right now Julius is having three Toyota Land Cruisers converted for safari tours - we had a ride in one back to the hotel. For a 2 person private safari they are going to be the business. Absolutely perfect.
This was a truly great holiday. We will be back and we won't be going to anyone but JT Safaris. They are brilliant to deal with - everyone loves them because they do whatever it takes to make sure you have a wonderful time. We can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks guys.
Book with JT (Julius Tact) Safaris, Mombasa's top safari company. You won't be disappointed.

we had booked the 4days safari already in belgium and paid 200 dollars in advance. julius is really correct and i have sent him a lot of emails and each time i get a response of him. Once we arrived in kenya we met him everything was so correct. He preferred even a better hotel which we have choosen. We had the following hotels voi safari lodge, ol tukai lodge and the tented camp severine (which julius said to take). each hotel was so good. our driver/guide was Daniel which is a really good guy and took the time for u to make beautiful photos and make a long stop to see the lions. We had also seen the kilimanjaro which is so nice to see even there where some clouths but we have see it thanks to daniel he took the time. He was also good to give all the information we wanted. We had a private van for ourselves other vans were full with people. Next year or the year after we are going back to kenya and we'll take another safari with julius and hopefully with the same guy. Then we wanna do the masai mara and going to tanzania. If you wanna do a safari book it with julius t safari and not with the touroperator it's much better. It was so good. We paid later the full amount and we get even a present 3woodens animals for a memory at home. It was my and my mums best vacation ever thanks to julius and daniel. |

We went on a 4 day safari whilst on Honeymoon in Malindi, Kenya. We booked via the internet before we went, which i was quite unsure about. It could not have been easier! I ended up booking with Julius Nzumbi of JT Safaris (Julius Tact Safaris). Initial e-mails were responded to quickly and honestly. After getting bogged down trying to choose which accommodation to stay in Julius offered to pick for us. All i can say is wow! We stayed in 2 fantastic lodges (he even arranged an upgrade to a suite as we were on honeymoon) and 1 night in brilliant tented accommodation. George, our guide was excellent, he had a vast range of knowledge and eyes like a hawk!! To list all the animals and birds we saw would take atleast another 3 pages, needless to say George made sure we experienced as much as was possible, a lioness with cubs, a cheetah making a kill, leopard, hippo...the list is endless. He always knew exactly where to be and when. Whilst on safari Julius phoned everyday to check we were enjoying ourselves and to make sure all was ok. The only money which had crossed hands at this point was a small deposit i made by bank transfer before we went to Kenya. Even when we were dropped back at our hotel at the end Julius said take a few days to relax and then we will meet to sort final payment. True to his word he came to our Hotel a few days later and even brought carvings as presents. Overall i cannot recommend this company enough, for its professionalism, honesty, and customer care. I would definitely use Julius Tact Safaris on our next visit. |

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 weeks vacation in Kenya. During our stay we did a 3 day Safari to Tsavo East and West with JT Safaris (JULIUS TACT SAFARIS, www.julius-safaris.com). We booked the safari plus airport transfers to and from Moi Airport and Diani Beach at a very reasonable cost, I would recommend booking private transfers with Julius as the price was very reasonable and you get to your hotel quicker and in greater comfort than you do with your tour operator. Our safari was fantastic. Francis our driver was very good and made our 3 days spotting animals very enjoyable, all the accommodation we stayed at was also excellent, Ashnil Arunba in Tsavo East and Kilaguni in Tsavo West we were managed to get a complimentary upgrade. All in all a great experience and would definitely recommend Julius for safari plus any other trips. Julius also provided us with free transfers around Diani Beach when we required which was an excellent additional service arranged very quickly with a short phone call to Julius himself. Remember to use JT Safaris (JULIUS TACT SAFARIS, www.julius-safaris.com) as there are other operators out there using similar names |

We contacted Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) prior to our departure to Kenya from the UK as we had been given a very high recommendation about his company and their safari trips. Julius arranged for us to be collected from our hotel, the Diani Reef Hotel, on Diani Beach by one of his personal drivers on our day of arrival from Mombasa and we met with him to discuss our safari options. With advice and guidance from Julius, based on his twenty years experience, we decided on a 3 day safari to Tsavo East and West and paid a small deposit. On the day of our safari we were picked up by our driver, Jay, and made the journey to Tsavo East. We very quickly became firm friends with Jay and he looked after us for our entire trip, ensuring that we were given the best experience. He is an absolute credit to the company and our safari was all the better for having access to his knowledge and experience of the wildlife. We stayed overnight in Tsavo East at the Ashnil Aruba Lodge, which we found delightful. We enjoyed the food and were excited to be staying in the middle of the game reserve by the Aruba Dam, where we saw hippos and a large herd of elephants (wow!) On the second day we headed to Tsavo West and stayed at the Kilaguni Serena Lodge, which was nothing short of breathtaking. We were thoroughly looked after and were made to feel like royalty by all the staff. On our third, and sadly final, day we left Tsavo West after a final game drive and visit to the volcanic hills, and headed back to Diani Beach. Julius met us at our hotel the following day for a debrief and to ensure our safari was to the highest standards, and very kindly brought us a beautiful souvenir to remember our trip. We had the best, most amazing time and have vowed to return to Kenya as soon as we are able, to once again book a trip with JT Safaris. In the meantime we will be recommending Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS), the best safari company, to all family and friends. A big, big 'Thank You!' to Julius, Jay and JT Safaris for making our our dream holiday a reality. |

We returned from a two week stay in the Diani area of Kenya on 9th February 2010 but due to a slight glitch with the computer and numerous hours editing the hundreds of photos and hours of video I have finally gotten around to writing a review. We stayed at Diani Reef Resort & Spa which is a fantastic hotel and well lives up to it’s five star rating. But the highlight of the holiday, was without doubt the 3 day / 2 night safari to the Masai Mara we booked with Julius Safaris - www.julius-safaris.com
I contacted JT before we travelled and although not necessary, wired JT a deposit prior to leaving UK as not knowing the demand of such trips we definitely didn’t want to be disappointed and miss out.
**Please DO NOT confuse www.julius-safaris.com with numerous other local companies with very similar names trying to cash in on the success and reputation of www.julius-safaris.com **
The day after we arrived I met Julius who travelled the few miles from his modest office to the reception of our hotel. He spoke great English, was very thorough with all arrangements and all seemed very promising- on Saturday we would be in the wilds of Africa!!!
Saturday came and Michael; JT’s trusted driver and a true gentleman collected us from our reception in a private air-conditioned mini van and drove us the short 3-4 mile trip to Ukunda Airport.
We bid Michael a farewell and waited to be called to the plane. Don’t worry if they have your names slightly wrong – I was Mr Daniel and the airport staff did not have a clue how to pronounce Phyllis, but it all added to the experience.
We need not have of worried a single jot. JT is a seasoned professional, and everything was taken care of.
After a fantastic 2 hour flight in a small plane which allowed us to take in the amazing sight of Mt Kilmanjaro from the left hand side of the plane we started our decent. The animals we had been longing to see soon came into focus – the odd tree somehow became Giraffe, the dark patches of grass turned to large herds of buffalo and the large grey boulders began to walk and somehow had bright white tusks. The plane got lower and lower until the wheels touched down on the gravel strip! WOW we were here!
Our guide Sammy was waiting for us at the air strip next to a canvassed roofed, but completely open 9 seat Toyota Landcruiser with a refreshing pot of Kenyan tea and biscuits.
I was so surprised to see so many animals on the 20 minute drive to our camp Kitchwa Tembo.
When we arrived at Kitchwa Tembo we knew our three day stay was never going to be long enough.
The luxury tent complete with colonial furniture and a stone bathroom at the rear was as good as any hotel room and very comfortable and warm.
The staff were nothing short of amazing, catering for our every need. The unique little touches which I will not mention, for fear of spoiling the staffs efforts, really felt we were being looked after by best friends or family who knew what we wanted when we wanted it - without even having to ask.
During our stay at Kitchwa Tembo we had four safari drives which are obviously all included. They each lasted 4-6 hours and covered upwards of 65 miles. The drives took us through grasslands, across and along the Mara River, through thickets and across baron scrub land. The variety and amount of animals we saw was truly everything we had wished for.
I think what made it feel so special was how isolated we were. Miles from anywhere with no other humans in sight and being truly off road, having the daily “African Massage” from the bumps and humps of the rough ground.
Our guide was truly amazing – never rushed, sharing his extensive and personal knowledge of the animals. We would decide if we wanted to move on or stay a little longer in one spot. His desire for us to see everything was strong, sometimes spending hours hunting for the elusive Leopard all the time pointing out the other animals that share it’s habitat.
Our meals times were considerately scheduled around our safari drives. The food was incredible, freshly cooked, lots of choice and alfresco under the stars, lit with romantic lanterns in the evening.
The mornings are something to behold. Get up early and get your room attendant to pull back your doors while you lie in bed and watch the sun rise over the Mara – wonderful.
The facilities are excellent at Kitchwa. There is internet connections to mail back home and share your day’s sights with friends. The pool is cool and fresh with wonderful views over the plains. There is modest entertainment courtesy of some local Masai dancers and numerous charging points for your cameras in the lobby area.
On our return to Diani Reef Resort we spoke with numerous guests who opted for the Tsavo Parks for their Safari. Although cheaper, I feel we made the right decision in going to the Mara. The flight only adds to it and is shorter than the uncomfortable drive to Tsavo. Also the true isolation of the Mara really adds to the true Safari feel. From what I heard the accommodation is far better on the Mara and the vehicles and guides far more comfortable and knowledable. The real reason for a Safari is obviously to see as many animals as possible and at close quarters. The Mara offers this in abundance and the frequency and intimacy of such encounters on the Mara far out way those in Tsavo.
Make no mistake – The Masai Mara is the place to Safari and Kitchwa Tembo is the place to stay - but above all trust www.julius-safaris.com to make the whole experience hassle free with a service second to none.
Please feel free to e-amil me for any tips or advice I might be able to give.

We went to Kenya with our 6 years old daughter on last december. We staied at Southern Palms hotel (Ukunda)for a week.. great hotel with a huge pool and so many friendly people working in it! The main reason for this journey was anyway the experience of a safari, something dreamed for so long, but never yet realized. When we booked the hotel the only thing we were sure was that we didn't want to arrange for our safari with any beach boy or travel agency, so going round sites like this we found many people describing their great safari with JT Safaris, and that's how we chose Julius!
Everything has been planned by e-mail: we decided for a 3 days safari in Tsavo East and West, one night in a camp, one in a lodge, we asked for a vehicle for us three only. Julius let us choose the camp and lodge and made the price. When we come to an agreement we sent him 200 USD, the rest would have been paid at the end of the safari. Then he told us when and where we would meet for the last briefing.
On the day of the date we found a kind and friendly driver at the hotel's main gate waiting to take us with a nice and very clean car to Julius office, not the main office in Mombasa, but a smaller in a village near Ukunda. There two lovely girls told us everything we needed to know about the safari and suggested, to make sure we would be completely satisfied, to change our accomodations for the night with better ones, same price for us. We decided to trust them and we're so happy we did!
5.30 in the morning next day we met our guide, Francis, and left for our journey. He is really a great man: very good driver, kind, friendly, cheerful and patient, so keen in spotting animals... we had a wonderful time with him and thanks to him. We reached Tsavo East in the morning and had time for game watching before we reached Thari Camp, where we had lunch and a little rest before leaving for the afternoon game watching. The camp was exactly what we expected and even more: in the midst of the savanna, with no fences, with wonderful tents and very good food. We spent a very good night there and, 6.30 in the morning we where ready to go, with Francis already waiting for us. We were astonished by his skill in spotting animals: while driving he could see animals behind a bush or in the grass, and it always took a lot of time for us to distinguish what he had so easily seen! On the way to Tsavo West, as well as before entering Tsavo East on the previous day, Francis stopped by a shop for coffee time, souvenirs and toilet!
Then we moved from Tsavo East to Tsavo West and reached Kilaguni Serena Lodge for lunch..what a great place! Game watching in the afternoon, we were taken to Mzima Springs and over a spectacular vulcano hill, and then back at the hotel late in the evening. We had our dinner with dozens of baboons, zebras, giraffes, waterbuck, antelopes, pumba, impalas grazing just beyond the hotel's terrace... On the third morning we followed Francis advice and left for game watching before breakfast: a very good choice, as we could finally see the lions! Then we were back at Kilaguni for breakfast and left Tsavo West with the sadness in the heart. Francis' last surprise was for lunch: he took us at Lions Hill, another wonderful place overlooking the Tsavo East plains. Before dinner we were back at Southern Palms. Francis called Julius, that wanted to talk with us to know if we were satisfied and if everything had been as we expected (of course it was), then asked when it would have been good for us to go to the office for the payment. Next day we were taken to the office where the two girls gave us 3 carved animals and let us speak with Julius once again. That's the end of our unforgettable adventure. Thanks to Julius we could see those wonderful african landscapes, we could sleep in very beautiful places and, of course, we could see soooo many animals!
There's one last thing I want to underline: Julius work is completely based upon mutual trust and respect. I really think this is something precious in times like these...

We travelled to Kenya early November for a 2 week stay at Voyager Beach Resort. The hotel was all we expected, and more. We also had a wonderful safari experience, made possible by Julius of JT Safari and his driver Francis. We paid a $200 deposit the day we arrived, after contacting Julius by email following research on tripadvisor and the internet. We arranged a 4 day, 3 night safari staying at Kilaguni Serena Lodge in Tsavo East, Kibo Camp in Amboseli and Ashnil Aruba Lodge in Tsavo East with a private driver. All lodges served a good selection of food; we had a poolside BBQ at Ashnil and danced with Masaai round the fire at Kibo. We chose Kibo as our second night, where we stayed in tents complete with en-suite shower & WC. Thanks to the keen eye of Francis, our friendly driver, we saw animals we would never have spotted. We were amazed how close we were to so many animals, including lions and cubs. We were collected for return to Julius’ office the day after our safari to meet Julius and settle our bill. He gave us 5 carved animals as mementoes and arranged a ½ day trip to Mombasa with a guide, for no cost. We were collected for our trip to Mombasa at 8am and met Farook, our guide. We were taken to Akamba wood carving workshops and shown round Mombasa where we visited Fort Jesus and walked to the markets before returning to our hotel at lunch. We called to see Julius once more en-route and were given a hippo carving. We cannot give enough praise to Julius and his staff for making us feel welcome and secure whilst having the most amazing experience.

Looking at all the comments elsewhere about Julius and JT safaris, I can only add that I agree with all the positive comments. It is a little nerve wracking going with a Tour operator independantly, and handing over cash with no reciept. However, Julius arranged a fantasitic air safari for us to the Masia Mara in Kichwa Tembo camp. (see separate review of this camp). He kept in phone contact with us frequently, making sure all the arranements were going to plan. He provided free shopping trips, and happily diverted transport on transfers so we could visit the bank and pharmacy. He was punctual, curteous, helpful and friendly, and gave us some lovely carvings to take back home. His prices considerably undecut those offered by our Virgin Rep, and the standard of the tour was amazing. Our hotel did not allow Julius on the premises, as they wanted guests to use their designated tours operator, however, it is very clear that Julius offers a bonafide, genuine and local service. I would far rather my money went to local people, rather than give my money to multinational companies that need my custom less.

Last year did Tsavo East/West through JT Safaris and Julius made it very special. Did Masai Mara this year through Julius again and it was the absolute highlight of the holiday. The Mara is fantastic and we saw just about eveything – Elephants and lions galore, a baby Zebra being born, Wildebeest getting shredded by Crocs on the big migration (Wildebeest as far as the eye could see) and two Lions bonking were just three of the many highlights!!! Animals everywhere. Had breakfast out on the Mara every day and to see Wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, birds etc. roaming/flying by whilst chomping breakfast was just surreal!! I've a Facebook site so hope to put some video on there soon. Stayed at Kitchwa Tembo lodge (a surprise upgrade from the wonderful Julius!!) and it was just fantastic. Meals cooked in front of you, early morning calls with coffee and a hot water bottle at bedtime!!. If you are lucky you'll also be treated to dinner served to you on the front porch outside your tent!!! One word of caution - the Hyrax (a large tree dwelling rodent) is VERY noisy and can scream all night long!! Take warm clothes for the morning safari (up at 5.30 am and it’s a bit nippy!). All in all a fantastic holiday and Julius of JT Safaris yet again came up trumps – can’t recommend him highly enough. |

Having spent many days' researching safari operators in Kenya, we opted to spend 2 days on safari in Tsavo East and Tsavo West using JT Safaris and were hugely impressed.
We asked Julius of JT Safaris (not to be confused with Julius Thevi Safaris) to arrange a 2 day safari, and it was a wonderful experience. George was our driver and found us lions, crocodiles, buffalo, warthogs, hippos, giraffes, elephants and much more wildlife. Having spoken to many other guests at the hotels it appears they saw many carcasses, but not many live animals due to the lack of rain. Somehow George found us an abundance of animals, and we had the most amazing experience. Our highlight was seeing 7 lions hiding under various bushes stalking zebras. The wildlife and scenery was wonderful and I would highly recommend going to Tsavo East and West as they are both very different. Julius not only arranged the transfer from the Voyager Hotel to the safari, but also dropped us off in Watamu where we spent the next week. I couldn't recommend Julius highly enough. He is incredibly accommodating and will offer advice about where to stay, etc, and will happily arrange everything for you. All the food, transport, 'water on board' and accommodation are included... all you need to pay for are the drinks at the hotel. We sent him a small deposit before leaving the UK and paid the balance after the safari and he sent us off with lovely gifts. Be aware that there are operators pretending to be Julius on the beach and also on the web. The website you need is www.julius-safaris.com.
All in all a wonderful experience. |

We went to Tsavo West first and stayed at the Ngulia Lodge which was comfortable and lovely scenery, our Guide Japheth was 1st class he tried to show us as many of the animals as he could, we managed 4 of the big 5 the highlight being the Black Rhino he came from nowhere and stood right in front of us we had a fantastic view of him and got some wonderful photos, even Japheth was really pleased to have seen him. The very next day Japheth found 5 Cheetahs for us to watch once agin they were right in front of us - great.
We then went to Tsavo East and stayed at the Ashnil it was gorgeous, we were intending to stay at Voi Lodge but changed our minds and we are so pleased that we did, Ashnil was lovely and the view from our room was outstanding.
Once again Japheth did his very best to get us the best possible sightings and on this trip, we saw Lions very close up and loads of elephants, giraffes and too many more to mention. Japheth was very knowledgable there was nothing he did not know, we send our very best wishes to him and a big thank you.
Now to JT Safaris - they are a great company, Julius went out if his way to make our trip a wonderful experience, he sent a driver to our Hotel to take us to his office to arrange the trip and accommodated us to our exact wishes.
We only paid a small deposit up front and then paid the balance on our return when he was sure that we had had a good time, on top of that he also gave us a pair of lovely giraffes and an elephant and also gave us a free trip to the wood carving place, we could have gone into Mombasa aswell but we had already done that. All in all we would highly recommend JT Safaris (dont get them mixed up with the other company that also calls themselves JT Safaris, these people are on the beach beware they are not the same company and you will not get the same good service.
We really hope to visit Kenya again one day and will certainly give JT a visit for another safari.
Thank you for making our holiday really enjoyable we had a fantastic time and please thank Japheth for us he had the most wonderful smile.
Thank you once again Julius.
Kind Regards

Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) (www.julius-safariscom)
YOU ARE A TRUE GENT!!!!!!!!!
We checked all the web-sites before we went for the best deal and also for something special. The tour operator didn't give us much choice and it looked very expensive for the content.
We found JT and looked through the reviews on all sites looking for just 1 negative review. YOU WON'T FIND ONE!!!
We emailed Julius with our requirements, we didn't like the reviews on the lodges he recomended so decided to push our luck and ask for different ones. We told Julius where we wanted to stay (Ashnil Aruba, and Salt licks), gave him the dates and also asked for a PRIVATE safari. I would recomend this 100%. The price quoted was cheaper than our tour operator (thomas Cook) and we were about to stay in 5 star lodges.
Julius asked for a small deposit and then we were to pay the balance on return from Safari as long as we had enjoyed ourselves. How can you beat that for service???
He met us outside the hotel (No outside companies allowed in, yet the gate men stay with you untill he turns up). We went to his office where he explained the details of our safari. We set off at 6.00am in our own van with our guide BONNIFAC, who we now call LEOPARD MAN. The game drives were out of this world, and we saw everything we wanted to and more. The 1st lodge was new and we were met with warm towels and cocktails. The food and service were fantastic. All I can say is visit the lodge website or google the lodge and everything you see and read is 100% accurate.
Day 2 we went to our 2nd lodge after a game drive which was the most humbling thing I have ever experienced. We felt like invaders in a different world. Imagine being dropped in the middle of Jurassic Park, and this is the best way of describing it.
Salt Licks and its sister lodge were JUST AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. bedroome on stilts while the animals walk under you room to the water hole. We saw many unbelievable sights including 200-250 buffalo coming down the hill to the watering hole then leaving again. baby elephants within touching distance of the restaurant. Please look on line for pictures of this lodge it is truly unbelievable and we sat up most of the night just watching the animals taking turns to drink.
I feel that I have experienced something that everyone should see in their lives and it was made possible by Julius. When we returned we were tired so he agreed to meet us 2 days later to pay. Can you imagine that service in britain. When we paid him he first checked that we had enjoyed our trip, then gave us some wooden gifts too. The best value for money EVER.
We used his company for 2 other trips in mombassa one of which he gave us for free asking us to just tip the driver.
I cannot praise JT enough and would recomend him to everyone. |

I spent 3 days and 2 nights in Tsavo East and West and I would say the standard was very high in all respects. Our guide Abdul was exceptional always trying his best for us and we did see the big 5 large due to his efforts. We stayed at the Ngulia Lodge which was fairly basic in terms of rooms but the food and location were excellent. We also stayed at Ashnil Lodge which was excellent in every way. I would highly recommend booking with JT Safaris

On TripAdvisor, go to Africa, then Visting Africa, to Travellers Advice and here you will see 1855 top things to do all over Africa and guess what is number one - Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T. Safaris (Julius Tact Safaris). So many people cannot be wrong.
Last spring my daughter, niece and I decided we wanted to go to Africa but we did not know where in Africa. When I went on Trip Advisor to see what are the top things to see and do in all of Africa, out of about 1700 entries, #1 was to go on a safari in Kenya with Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T. Safaris. While I think of it, be sure you have the correct Julius. There is another guy passing off as Julius of JT Safaris and you definitely do not want to do business with him. On the JT Safaris website (www.julius –safaris.com), you can be sure you have the right company. So I then read all the reviews of the company and was amazed that several hundred people had ONLY the greatest of reports on this company. I then emailed Julius and we began a series of emails to plan our 19 days. We decided on two days in Nairobi, a day in Mombasa, a 6 day safari, 7 days at the highly rated Voyager Beach Resort and about 3 days travelling from Canada to Africa and back.
Julius recommended a private van and driver for the safari and we decided on three days to see Tsavo East, Tsavo West, and Ambolseli Game Reserves and then to fly to the Masai Mara for another 3 days. He told me the accommodation and food would be first class! He also quoted me a price of $1445 US per person for the 6 day safari. Well absolutely everything he arranged was TREMENDOUS. In comparison to other tourists we met all along the safari and later, we clearly were with the finest operator.
We landed in Nairobi and took a taxi to the Boulevard Hotel. This was one hotel I had booked and when we arrived we were told they had needed our rooms for another group that had been staying at the hotel and they were taking us to their partner Hotel 680 which I had deliberately decided not to use from what I saw and read on Trip Advisor. I was very angry especially after no sleep for 30 hours. Fortunately the next day in Nairobi we found a great taxi driver who we hired for the day to take us from site to site for about $50 US. We saw an elephant orphanage, did a safari walk in Nairobi National Park and the Village Market Shopping Centre, all of which were excellent.
Then we flew to Mombasa and were greeted at the airport by a driver and guide from JT Safaris to take us on a city tour of Mombasa ending up at the Voyager Resort that evening. Julius had said he would arrange for a pickup at the airport and a tour and everything was delivered as promised. The guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the walking tour of the Old City. Then they dropped us off at the Voyager Beach Resort which I had selected again from Trip Advisor. Here Julius’ driver said he was not allowed to take us up to the door so he let us off outside the gate of the property. I thought that was strange until I was told at the hotel that they only allowed a select group of tour operators onto the Voyager grounds. From what I could see most of the companies advertising there, were not local but rather large companies. I also quickly discovered from other tourists returning from safaris that the prices they paid were often double our safari rate. I made a point to let the Voyager know verbally and in writing that if they appreciated their customers, they should DEFINITELY allow JT Safaris to advertise and operate out of their hotel. All of the hundreds of reviews on Trip Advisor, supplemented by our own experience, means that the Voyager is currently asking its guests to select other than the best safari operators at very much higher rates.
On our safari, we had both early morning and late afternoon game drives with excellent guides helping us spot the Big 5 plus many other types of animals and birds. We saw so very closely lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, impalas, ostrich, elands, hyenas, wild dogs, hippos, crocodiles, cheetahs, zebras and so many more. The guides had a wealth of knowledge about all the animals and the best way to see them. We also were taken for a great tour at Mzima Springs. We also requested extra stops at a Masai Village and at a local medical clinic both of which were really worth it. Our accommodations were at Ashnil in Tsavo East, Ngulia Lodge in Tsavo West, Sentrim in Amboseli and the Fig Tree Lodge in Masai Mara. At all of them in a lodge or a tent, it was true luxury with fantastic meals, pools, lookouts at the animals at the water holes and more.
Well back at the Voyager for our 8 day stay after the safari, we discovered the rooms were very nice in the A block, the food in the main restaurant was generally average and often repeated over the eight days, that the seafood restaurant was again average but the Italian restaurant was excellent. The water at the oceanside beach was filthy dirty and the sand was covered with smelly seaweed. Fortunately though, we had the use of three excellent swimming pools with plenty of beds and towels for all. We also made use of their internet which was reasonable if you bought the 3 hour package but the resort definitely needs more than two computers designated for this purpose. We also booked a deep tissue massage for the three of us and although the price was fine for the hour, the massage was really a gentle rub of very oily cream.
While we were at the Voyager resort, Julius' staff came to pick us up to take us to a few places we had requested months before - to an orphanage, an AIDs clinic, the Bombolulu Cultural Centre and to a hospital. My daughter is a physician and she wanted to consider some projects for an international charity we founded. All of the arrangements Julius made for these visits were terrific. We met with the CEO of a huge AIDS clinic, the founder of the Tumaini orphanage for children that are HIV positive and much more.
Then it was time to leave Mombasa and fly back to Nairobi and of course Julius sent staff at 5 am in the morning to drive us to the airport. When it came time to leave, Julius had still not asked to be paid so we said we need to see you to pay you. When we met this wonderful man who had attended to the every detail of our requests and who had provided an absolutely deluxe safari and tour service, we could not believe it when he charged us only what he had said originally for the safari. All of the pickups and returns to the airports, the arrangements for extra visits, the drivers and guides, etc, came with no additional cost. And Julius had even hand carved several animals for us to take home as memories.
We ended our trip with the best of memories of Kenya and this superb Kenyan tour operator. We had the best of everything on the safari and after, and all that was included. Julius will be calling you daily on his driver’s cell phone, sometimes even twice a day to check that all is what you had hoped for and insuring that is in fact what is happening. We received tremendous value for our money. I can assure anyone you will come away knowing for sure YOU HAD THE BEST!

All I can say is that the 3 day safari to Tsavo West and Tsavo East was excellent. Sisto our driver ( probably spelt wrong) was great and went out of his way to make sure my family had the best experience. Booking and paying was easy and Jt discussed everything with us. Accommodation at Ngulia was somewhat dated and plumbing noisy however everyone was so tired after the long day safari that everyone was in bed by 9.30pm! The view at Ngulia (best spot up by the pool) is too die for and cannot be beaten. The view from our room was awesome and even saw a black rhino from there. Our second night accommodation was at privately owned Ashnil which is modern and new, you could ask for no more but you dont get the Ngulia view, so a mixture of both places was ideal. All our needs were catered for and the animals were breathtaking. JT even came and gave us gifts to bring back to England which the children loved. Many many thanks and I highly recommend you and your company. The memories will live with us forever. A word of warning....there are now imposters cashing in on Julius Tact as his reputation is excellent so make sure you log onto the correct website of Julius K. Nzumbi of J.T(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS).

Just got back from Kenya.
Whilst there we went on a 3 night safari to Tsavo east, west and Amboseli with JT SAFARIS(JULIUS TACT SAFARIS) and had the one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had. It was supposed to be a one of trip but it was so good that we have decided to go again in 2011.
We will definitely use Julius again as he, in our view, offered the best quality service for the price during the safari and several days later he will contact you to make sure that you are still happy and presents you with a memorable gift as a reminder.
One word of warning, do look out for imposter's using his initials and do not believe what the hotel reps tell you, as they will try to direct you into using the hotel/tour operator safari companies ( who charge more) by telling you lies about Julius such as he is not insured (during our trip we were stopped by a police road block who wanted to see all of the drivers documents, including the insurance)
Would not seem fair to leave out our very knowledgeable driver 'Japheth'. Thanks for a very memorable holiday and see you in 2011. |

We also used JT Safaris for our excursions following all the good reviews on the internet - well earned praise.
First a 3 day safari at Masai Mara, travelled by air from the local airstrip at Diani direct to the savannah, stayed at Fig Tree Camp which seemed nice until we went to Tsavo.
Next a 3 day safari by road to Tsavo East and West, staying at Aruba Lodge (brand new and very plush) Kilaguni Serena lodge (fantastic watering hole).
Over the six days we saw just about every creature imaginable except the elusive Rhino.
In summary, had a great time but the highlight was the safari in Masai - if we went again we wouldn't bother with the beach hotel (you can do all that in Europe!) we would recommend that you contact Julius or his sister Jemmilah at JT safaris (julius-safaris.com) to book your lodges and travelling arrangements from Mombasa airport onwards and just go to Kenya for the main event, the Big 5!

We were a family of 5 who booked our safari through JT Safaris. The reason we chose JT was the good feedback on the internet. Itinerary Julius planed for us was perfect. We started with an overnight stay at Mount Kenya in the Treetops hotel. It was a fantastic experience to see all the animals at the waterhole just below our rooms.Next day we were at Lake Nakuru, where we had our first game drive with Franco. He was a very knowledgeable guide and a very comfortable driver. We ended our safari with 3 days in Masai Mara where we stayed at the Fig Tree camp.It was a very pleasant and relaxing place to be between all game drives. We saw the big 5 and much more thanks to our talented guide.
Our negative at this safari was some lack of clarity with regard to payment and the number of people who would participate. Next time we use JT safaris , we will have a better communication before we start.
Whatever we can strongly recommend the use of JT safaris as an excellent safari company. |

Fantastic three day safari with JT safaris (plase note booked from the UK via email and not on the beach at Nyali with the man who pretends to be Julius)We had an amazing trip, we saw so many animals many more than we had ever imagined we would. OUr accomodation was great, Ngulia spectacular scenery and the watering hole and leopard feeding are fabulous. Ashnil is perfect and very romantic staying in the tents. Great food and service at both locations. J T safris offer an excellent safari at excellent value, Julius is true to his word when he says he will give you the best experience. Our driver (also Julius) was brilliant with lots of knkowledge about the animals he had some very interesting stories to tell us too.
I would have no hesitation in recommending a safari with JT safaris. |

We have arrived back safely in the UK and just wanted to thank you for our amazing safari to Shimba Hills and our fabulous trips to Mombasa and Haller Park.
John spent the first day with us,taking us to Mombasa and then to Haller Park.He was very friendly and as he chatted to us during the day,he was full on interesting information and made us feel very comfortable. We saw all the areas of Mombasa we wanted to visit and had plenty of time ,not feeling rushed at all. John was especially good at the craftsman's village as he knew so many workers and he helped us to chat easily with them. Please could you thank John for a really great day!
Ronald took us to Shimba Hills. He was really great as well. He really looked after us on the journey up to the Hills and was reassuring when we were on the Ferry. As we entered Shimba Hills Reserve he found us animals on every turn! We were so amazed,he seemed to know exactly where the animals would be that early in the day! It really helped our 10 year old to relax and enjoy each animal. He even asked where the animals were when we drove past later in the day and the animals had moved on.The walk to Sheldrick Falls is wonderful and we were grateful Ronald had purchased water for us! That part of the trip is really worthwhile too. Ronald took us to lunch at the Shimba Hills Lodge and was so relaxed and helpful in telling us everything we needed to know. The luch was perfect and it is the most beautiful spot. When we went for the afternoon drive he found the Sable Antelopes for us and we spent over half an hour being able to watch as he turned off the engine and let us enjoy them!
Thank you again for the drink at the end of that day,we were delighted to meet you after all our emails. We wish you all the best with your company and will be calling you next time we come and telling all our friends that come to Kenya!
Having a Safari with Julius Kavunza Nzumbi, Julius Tact Safariswww.julius-safaris.com gives you that personal touch. Julius listens to what you require when he meets with you on your first day in Kenya and nothing is too much trouble. As it is just your family in the van you have the most perfect views of all the animals and only move on when you request, you can spend the quality time you want to.Do not hesitate in booking with Julius rather than big companies,Julius gives an experience that you will never forget!
Thanks again Julius,John and Ronald!

JT Safaris - we booked a three day/two night safari with JT Safaris over the internet before we left. I would definately recommend doing this. It is much more expensive if you book through your travel agent or through the hotels. I used JT as they had very good reviews on Trip Advisor. We all had a great time and our guide was very informative and friendly. We saw loads of elephants, giraffes, zebra, buffalo etc and also saw a cheeta and a lion - it was fantastic.
Julius has a very good reputation so there are others out there pretending to be him. The man you need to contact is Julius K.Nzumbi of JT safaris (julius-safaris.com) |

I completely endorse all the excellent comments and reviews posted about JT safaris. Julius who owns and runs the business is a man of complete honesty and integrity. Nothing is too much trouble and he goes out of his way to make the safari experience one you will always remember. I had already done two safaris before but neither compared to this one as we were able to tailor make to our own requirements.
We had e mailed him from the U K arranging to meet him outside our hotel on our second day. Don't be put off by this.It is simply because the hotels will not allow him entry as they want to sell you their own safaris at much higher prices!!!
Julius met us and took us(all 6 of us) in air-con taxis to a cafe, bought us ice cold drinks and spent time going through all the safari options with us. He was patient and very professional with none of the previous hard sell and hassle we experienced from the guys selling safaris on the beach.
The safari accommodation he arranged was superb particularly the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge in Tsavo West. Julius had arranged the best rooms for us which overlooked the watering hole. This was visited all day and night long by so many animals. We stayed up til we couldn't keep our eyes open any longer watching the animals. The hyenas were amazing with their strange voices echoing in the night. My 22 year old daughter described this experience as being the best day of her life!!
Just a word of caution--we became aware of others posing as Julius to try to muscle in on his business and excellent reputation. Make very sure you e mail or speak to the real Julius K.Nzumbo of JT Safaris and you know you will safe and happy.
Thank you Julius for a wonderful Safari experience. We have amazing photos and videos to treasure.

Absolutely brilliant and would recommend anyone going to Kenya on a safari to talk with these guys at JT Safaris to give them a chance to organise you a personal safari to your own tastes.
The whole experience from being picked up to getting dropped back at our hotel 5 days later was superb and we did not encounter a single problem during the organising of the trip through to the end.
Definitely a very well run outfit who could sort you at and save you pounds, certainly no worries about dealing with these guys. |

Let Julius take the stress out of one side of your holiday.
I arranged a fly safari to the mara through him on a 3 day staying at the FIG TREE in a tent on the banks of the Talek River.
I paid him in cash and felt very comfortable as Julius was clearly not hungry for my money. his attitude was very relaxed and he was genuinely concerned for my happiness as was his sister and assitants.
they are all very courteous and were willing to go the extra mile even though they never had to. I got a feeling that they take pride in looking after their \"clients\" though I felt more like a friend with them, that\'s how relaxing it was for me.
He has great knowledge and contacts which was evident when he dropped me to the local airstrip. The moment the staff saw i was with Julius they had a twinkle in their eye and even let me on the plane before anyone else even though I was not the first one there!!
the safari in the Mara was breathtaking and i cannot put into words the beauty of this place - GO VISIT FOR YOURSELF and see the 8th wonder of the world.
When I go back next year to see the wildbeest migration i will book it through Julius and have no hesitation recommending him to anyone.
Please feel free to get in touch :

I live and work in SW London and am used to being looked after which I was by Julius.

Jt Safaris operate from their office opposite the Neptune Village Paradise in Diani Beach about 40km south of Mombasa. Julius Nzumbia gives a remarkable and quite unique safari experience. No pressure sales and works with you to maximise your perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity. Each party always has their own vehicle (there were three of us) - so no fighting for a viewpoint and your own dedicated driver/guide. The vehicle was modern, clean, well maintained and re-stocked daily with a generous supply of ice chilled bottled water. Our driver/guide (Boniface) had a very good in-depth knowledge of all of the parks and spent as long or as little time as we wanted viewing and photographing etc.. Julius himself kept in touch by phone everyday to ensure all was well. I can fully understand why the big tour operators aren’t keen on him – the service he gives is second to none and at a fair price. In fact, he doesn’t even want full payment until you are back and completely satisfied.
A small man with a very big heart who became a very good friend!
We stayed at the Ashnil Aruba (Tsavo East), Kilaguni Serena(Tsavo West) and Shimba Rainforest Lodges.
Ashnil Aruba Lodge, the latest in visitor accommodation opened in April 2008 to become available in
Tsavo East National Park is situated on the shaded northern bank of the Voi River looking across the
Aruba Dam. The completely redeveloped with its 40 modern comfortable ensuite double rooms and well
appointed restaurant, bar and swimming pool overlooking the dam, Aruba Lodge made an ideal centrally located lodge from which to explore the expansive wilderness of Tsavo East National Park.
Altitude: 1,421 ft above sea level
Latitude: S. 38° 49’ 07
Longitude: E. 03° 21’ 05
Generally hot and dry fanned by a cool breeze. Long rains are anticipated from mid April to July and the
short rains from November to early December.
Minimum temperatures of 18° and maximums of 37° Celsius.
Aruba Lodge is 30 kilometers from Voi Gate and 40 kilometers from the Buchuma Gate, and about 2
hours drive from Mombasa.
Kilaguni Serena is located on a ridge that commands magnificent sweeping views of the Chyulu Hills at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilaguni was the first safari lodge ever to be built in a national park and has long been a favourite of international tourists. It was opened in 1962 and has been under Serena management since December 1999. Taking its name from a Kamba word meaning ‘young rhino’, the lodge is located in the middle of the world renowned Tsavo National Park – an area covering 20,720 square kilometres that boasts a huge population of elephants. The lodge has 56 bedrooms each with a fabulous terrace from which you can witness spectacular African sunsets. Its waterhole is considered to offer the finest terraced savannah game viewing in Kenya, and at night you can listen to the sounds of herds of buffalo and elephant grazing outside your bedroom.
Shimba Rainforest Lodge is set discreetly in the heart of an ancient tropical rain forest, cleverly constructed in indigenous timber, blends perfectly with the luxuriant forest vegetation of the Shimba Hills National Reserve. The only tree lodge on the Kenyan Coast, shares this scenic home with herds of sable antelope, elephant, buffalo, civet and genet cat, who can be sighted most evenings at Shimba's floodlit waterholes. Shimba can accommodate 65 people. All rooms have balcony vantage points overlooking the waterhole, The rooms are small but well designed and cheerful with big windows, twin beds and ceiling fan. A wooden walkway extends 120m into the tropical rainforest. At the end is place for a bird watchers to sit quiently and enjoy the birds and butterflies, the sights and sounds of the forest and soothing trickle of water flowing from a spring. The dining room is a covered verandah facing the floodlit waterhole.

Myself and my boyfriend went to Kenya in November. We had heard about Julius on the internet and had heard the rave reviews. i must say that the service Julius provided us with was nothing short of perfection.
He is extremely friendly and more than willing to do anything you want with regards to arranging trips and excursions. all we had to do was call him up and tell him what we wanted and he would arrange everything. He would pick us up and drop us off after our trips.
We went on a 3 day massi mara safari and also to wasini island which were both out of this world and i would strongly recommend. We owe our amazing holiday to julius as if it wasn't for him then it would not of been so good.
We do plan to contact Julius in the future so he can book us on more trips when we return to Kenya. Julius is also very reasonable when it comes to price. We couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else.
Fantastic!!!

So pleased I booked with Julius, his flexibility and personal touch meant I was able to fit this 2 day safari and 2 other day trips into my week holiday. It wouldn't have been possibl on the package tours that have set dates for everything.
First, my driver Samson was punctual and very informative. We got to Tsavo East around 8:30 am and our drive started straight away. The whole morning was excellent. We saw many herds of elephants, zebra and buffalo. I was really pleased I had booked with Julius as I had a vehicle all to myself! He specialises in private safaris at a very reasonable price. It makes a huge difference having less people in the vehicle, which becomes all too evident when you see vans full of hot bothered and very disgruntled passengers who the package tours have crammed in together. I got to take as many photos as I liked from all angles and take as long as I wanted with the animals while the others were all shuffling around in a fluster!
Having your lunch stop at the Voi Lodge is a really nice touch. There is a water hole in the middle of the savannah and while I was there a whole herd of elephants (adults and babies)came in for a drink and a wash, an amazing sight. There are also amazing views out across the savannah so your animal spotting is enhanced, not hindered by lunch.
In the afternoon, we drove on through Tsavo East to Tsavo West. Unfortunately, we didn't spot any rhinos in the sanctuary (they are quite shy) but did see plenty of other animals including giraffes and many antelopes.
Stayed in Ngulia Lodge in Tsavo West. This is an excellent choice and the package tours paid a high price for the privelege or got put in inferior lodges. Julius uses the best lodges as standard at a fair price. Ngulia is excellent. Not only is the water hole really close to the bar / restaurant area, so you see herds of elephant, buffalo and antelope wandering through, but food is left out for a wild leopard to come and get so you have some excellent photo opportunities. There are also some very cute bush babies and porcupines around. Fantastic views and so nice to wake up to animals just wandering past your terrace.
Leaving Ngulia the next morning we saw many more herds of buffalo and zebras and my favourite of all, several groups of hippos. The driver followed the tracks to find which water areas they were in and it was great to see them in their natural habitat. Mzima springs is stunning, more of my hippo friends and some crocodiles too. Great photo opportunities, including Mt Kilimanjaro in the background. What a way to end your safari!
Lunch in Voi town and then back to Mombasa via a stop at an excellent crafts centre for another chance to buy souvenirs at half the price of the lodges. Shop workers are happy to show you how they are made outside.
An excellent safari experience made all the more special by a non-crammed vehicle and excellent lodges with amazing views. Thoroughly recommend Julius, he certainly knows how to experience thins so you get the very best experience. Thanks! |

We booked though Julius Nzumbi who will gladly come to your hotel at a time that suits to arrange your safari and negotiate a very reasonable price. He will take a deposit on booking and arrange a time for you to pay the rest after your safari. Our driver Carlos was excellent, he knew every animal and bird and made sure we had the best experience possible. To get in touch with Julius, go to www.julius-safari.com or email him at jtsafaris@yahoo.com. I thought it was a little bit risky but when we get there all our dreams come true about kenya. We have seen the big five in 2 days and the locations were perfect. Because we went with julius on safari we have seen the local, not touristic, things of kenya. we have seen a lot and julius makes our holiday excellent. nowadays he is our friend.

My most important reasons for our decision to visit this beloved Kenya was that we wanted to go on the best safari we have been dreaming. So before leaving, we researched different safari operators by reading reviews, looking at their web sites and comparing safari prices. After reading some excellent reports we made our decision that it was JT SAFARIS the because even being based locally the was the best reviews from many people of different countries. It is run by a run by young Kenyan man Julius Nzumbi who operates from an Orange Hut at USHAGO (African Village Shopping Centre) just opposite Diani sea Resort. We contacted Julius via email and explained the kind of safari we wanted, the dates and discussed prices. At our request he arranged a 4days safari Tsavo east/west/Amboselli with my family only in the van,
We finally met Julius the day after we'd arrived. We just walked to his office and we re affirmed that everything was in order as we arranged. The safari was brilliant and the best i ever had in my life. Our driver was a very careful driver and an excellent guide. He never rushed and would take time to point out all the animals and answer any questions we had. He also went out of his way to make sure that we got to see all of the “big 5.” It is truly amazing to see all the big 5,the landscapes with best hotels and camps with excellent view. Julius is very cheap and can garantee good price -quality.
.We had an adventure that we will remember forever with my family and my comment to you all "Jt Safaris makes your dream come true
All in all our holiday in Kenya was the best and all our expectations came to be true.
Thanks Julius Jt Safaris and your well organised team,

Julius arranged an absolutely unforgettable Safari for us at Kichwa Tembo luxury tented camp. The accommodation and camp is superb - just the right atmosphere and not too O.T.T. Food is very good - plentiful, and something for everyone. Accommodation is superb. Our guide (Elly, a Maasai man) was excellent and took great time and effort in finding all the animals we wanted to see. Julius arranged for us to go on a hot air balloon safari on our last morning and someone came before dawn from Governors Camp to pick us up. First time this had ever been arranged, but all went very smoothly and it was a wonderful experience. We did not want to leave. Julius is the most competitive with his prices and we found him to be a very honest and fair businessman. He works very hard to ensure that your individual needs/wants are met and we cannot fault his professionalism. We rate Julius of JT Tours very highly. So highly in fact that we are returning again over the Christmas/New Year 2008 and will book a return visit to Kichwa Tembo and hopefully their sister camp in Tanzania. Of course we shall only be booking this trip through Julius of JT Tours. |

JT Safaris.com –You wont be disappointed!
I am a photographer so for me it was really important to find the safari company that would offer me the best sightings and best arrangements for the best price.
After looking at so many sites on the web and what they had to offer my partner & I came across some good reviews about JT Safaris. We decided, after taking a look at his website, to send him an email requesting more information and querying availability. Julius (the owner) emailed us back with some useful information; we really like his manner and his eagerness to give us a great safari trip. Via email, we arranged to meet with Julius outside our hotel on the evening of our arrival.
I was a bit apprehensive at first, meeting a stranger in the dark in a foreign country with only an email to go by. I’m so glad we did though, we had the best adventure! We met him outside of our hotel and went to a pub that was across the road to sit and discuss what we wanted from our safari. Julius came across as an honest & professional man. He told us he never fills the safari vans to capacity because he believes you will not get the best experience that he really wants to give you.
Julius told us we could have a safari van to share with just two other people so that we would all be comfortable and have plenty of room to view the animals for an excellent price but then he said he wanted to do better for us and offered my partner and I a safari van to ourselves. At this point I was thinking ‘Yeah ok how much is this going to cost me!?’ but I was totally surprised when he offered us a price that was just too good to turn down!
We had a 3 night, 4 day safari and as Julius promised we stayed in luxurious and varied places to see and experience the best of Kenya. One of the lodges was at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, all the lodges were spectacular I just wish I had spent longer there.
Our driver was safe and a really friendly, smiley person who we became good friends with over the 4 days. He was also very professional and a great tracker. We were the first on the scene for the 4 Leopards & 3 Cheetahs that we saw. This allowed us to take our photo’s before ‘Lucky’ (our driver) radioed the other safari companies to let them get a chance to see what we had the luck to see! We saw all of the big 5 up close apart from the Rhino which we saw from a distance. We were so close to the Elephants that I could only fit their head in the camera frame!
I would recommend JT Safaris to everyone; Julius is true to his word and offers an outstanding safari trip. We saw many other safari vans out in the parks & most were crammed with people looking hot and bothered which made me think ‘I’m so glad I’m not them and that we booked our safari with JT Safaris.’

Trying to decide which Safari to go on is hard enough, deciding which tour operator to go with can be a nightmare. There are so many different operators, so many different prices, all basically going to the same safari parks. So how do you choose one?
We did all the research we could into which safari we wanted to go on, got a rough idea of the prices which differ horrendously from low to high, then stumbled upon a review about this man Julius (JT Safaris).I liked what the reviewer said, in particular about Julius being a man of his word, even returning a deposit to someone who couldn't make the safari for personal reasons. We decided to email him to get a feel for his character for ourselves. He seemed polite and professional so we decided to arrange to meet with him outside our hotel the day after we arrived in Mombasa.
We discussed what we thought was important; for example how many people would he cram into the 9 seater safari van. He told us he would only put 4 people at the most in a van so that everybody had a chance to see and take good photos. He offered to put us up in the "best lodges”. He also said that if we wanted, we could pay at the end of the safari. As a business owner myself, I took this offer as a very good sign of a trustworthy man. I was right. AFTER we had agreed a price Mr. Nzumbi told us that he would arrange for us to have a van to ourselves.
We were picked up outside of our hotel as agreed and set off on our 4 day "super safari” We almost couldn't believe how privileged we were as we witnessed convoys of safari vans heading up the Nairobi Mombasa highway crammed full of hot and bothered customers.
Our guide was excellent, you could not ask for a friendlier, more professional and amiable man than "Lucky", (Mulaki Kyalo). He adhered to an impeccable code of conduct, respecting the animals, not harassing them or blocking their routes as some of the other operators did. He seemed as excited to see the animals as we were which made for a far more enjoyable experience. As all the vans left the lodges in the morning, following each other through the massive expanse of parkland, Lucky would set us off on our own course, allowing us to experience the safari without the dust and distraction of the other vehicles. And he found everything. We saw the "Big Five" and then some. He found the animals, allowed us time to take pictures etc, and then, in fairness to the other safari goers, Lucky would radio the other guides and tell them where the Leopards, cheetahs etc. were.
We saw, up close and personal, 4 leopards, 3 hunting cheetahs, a pride of 10 lions and 4 other lions out and about. We saw dozens of elephants up close, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, antelope, hippos, crocs, ostriches, and the list goes on.
We spent 4 days on safari taking in the splendours of Tsavo East and West and Amboseli. We stayed at Kibo camp in Amboseli at the foot of Kilimanjaro, a luxury tented camp (Julius had asked us if we wanted to stay in such a camp before we left. We wanted to as it is very close to the animals at night, separated from us only by an electric fence.)Ngulia and Voi Lodge, both great by our reckoning. All had pools and good food.
I could go on about how great Julius and Lucky were but this would be a novel rather than a review. I must add that we went also on a trip to Wasini Island with JT Safaris and had a driver named Mohammed who was also excellent, friendly and professional and a pleasure to speak to. Another great trip at a very competitive price.
We obviously saw many other tour companies and spoke to many people before and after they had booked safaris, through the hotel, with the beach boys or over the internet. The consensus seemed to be that we had received excellent service at a very fair price, in a nutshell; We won the Safari lottery when we booked with JT Safaris.

We went on a 6-days safari in tsavo, amboseli and the beautiful masai mara. We stayed in the best tented camps such as Kibo and Kichwa Tembo, very big nice tents and excellent food, great views and high standard service. We saw all the animals you can imagine, we had a cheetah with 5 kids below our car, eating a dikdik. We saw the great migration of wildebeast, because of our driver tito was so experienced, he knew exactly where the wildebeast would cross the mara river, onforgetable.
We were with our children of 6 and 8 and friends, had our own car. We booked everything in holland by email with Julius and he did exactly what he promissed, even more.
Tito and Julius, thanks a lott for this great time in our lives, we will never forget this great experience, and once, we will come back.
